Finch family - Brighton
« on: Thursday 28 July 16 22:05 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information about William Percy Finch who married Doris Kathleen Owen in Eastbourne in 1930, I believe they moved to Brighton (William may have been a greengrocer) and had two children but I can't seem to find any more information about them :(

Doris was my Great Aunt

If you look on the FreeBMD index and put in those surnames 2 possible children come up one in Eastbourne and one in Brighton.

Can't post their names as they may still be living.

William Percy Finch
Birth Date:   18 Jun 1909
Mar 1975 Age at Death:   65
Brighton   East Sussex
Volume:   18  Page:   0269

You should be able to find him in the 1911 census, but we are not allowed to give information from that. They should also be in the 1939 register.

Sent you a PM - looks as if she died as Doris Kathleen Ansell in 1995.

I don't understand that KG, are you saying that is another marriage?  She died as Ansell, there is a probate record for her under that name. She seems to have "adopted" the Ansell name by 1951, quite a few years before she married him.

1976 has quite a confusing set of marriage partners.
There is also a male Ansell marriage there - to spouse Ansell

Does it say she is a widow or mention any family?

I'm pretty sure that is her, judging by information from the 1939! The probate doesn't give any more information so Nessie might need to send for the will.
