In Sep 1748 my ancestor Judith Scarfe married in Bury St Edmunds by license, she said she was of Bardwell, Suffolk, and was 23 years of age, so born c1725.
In 1732, a Judith Scarfe was baptised in Hopton, Suffolk, near Thetford, daur of Edward and Mary. They wed in 1728 and had a daughter in 1729. I did think she was the right one, and maybe she was 16 but passed for 23 and managed to get away with it, or she was baptised a bit late.
But I found another Judith Scarfe baptised in 1725 in Roudham, Norfolk, near Thetford, daughter of Roger Scarfe and Hannah. Roger may have been a relative of Edward Scarfe of Hopton, a few miles away. Not found any marriage of any Judith Scarfe's 1740-1770 outside the 1748 marriage.
Would it be a good bet to say the 1725 one is my one?
