Nothing really to add to willsy's find, but this is the typed record from Christ Church:
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01i88/
It states the minister was Reverend Mr Sturgeon and Peter Story's name, according to this record, was Stoy.

I don't know if there is a way to see the actual image (in case it has additional information), but perhaps you've already checked this site:

Would Peter Storry have been a member of the Church of England?

An online tree has a Peter Stoy marrying an Elizabeth Stone, 21 April 1761, Philadelphia.  According to this tree, Peter was born c1732 in Pennsylvania and his father, Petter Stey, was born in 1702 in Germany.

They did not include any images, so it is difficult to say if their records are correct.  (No offense meant to the owner of the tree.)

Thank you, I'll take a look at that

He could not have been a member of it in his youth, as the Church of England has never had any congregations in Scotland. There is a small, but I think rather unlikely, possibility that he was brought up as a member of the Episcopal church rather than of a Presbyterian denomination, in which case the CofE would have been a natural choice for him. More likely he was brought up as a Presbyterian but switched to the C of E in America, either because he preferred Anglicanism, or (unlikely, I think) because there was no suitable or convenient Presbyterian church. Or it may be that this is completely different person altogether.

Edit: having looked at those Christ Church web sites, I think it must be someone entirely different. The parish registers list several people name Stoy, but no-one named Story.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

More information about Peter Storry has come to light. I had already found a sasine dated 1759 in which Peter's brother William, acting on his own behalf and on behalf of Peter, became the legal owner of the lands of Badallan bequeathed to them jointly by their father Andrew Storry.

I have now found a sasine dated 7 June 1765 whereby William became the owner of Peter's share. He had a disposition granted by the now deceased Peter Storry of the County of Newcastle on Delaware in the Province of Pennsylvania in North America, physician, his brother german, whereby Peter 'sold, annailzied and disponed' to William his share of Badallan.

So Peter Storry must have died in or shortly before 1765.

The interesting point, for me, is whether the 'disposition' was a will, or whether Peter had decided that as his future was in Pennsylvania there was no point in him owning a half share in Badallan, and had actually parted with it for cash. (The word 'sold' does appear from time to time in records that are obviously wills, so its presence does not guarantee that it was a sale for cash.)

Are there any sources for wills in the 1760s in Pennsylvania?

Revisiting this rather old thread.
