Miles family if Llannelly near Abergavenny

Following up on my Hiram Aston post previously, I am now looking for his mother Ann Miles and her mother Elizabeth Miles.

Having found them in the 1841 census, I am struggling to find any other reference to Elizabeth Miles before or after. What was her maiden name and where did she come from.

I am also puzzled by an entry on the 1841 census for Mary Miles aged 18 who lives with the family. How is she related to Ann and Elizabeth?

How old are Ann and Elizabeth on that census?

Just noticed that the 1841 Llanelly census appears to show an 18 year old Mary Miles living with Joseph and Elizabeth Miles and their two children in Turnpike Road. I wonder who she was. Did Joseph have a previous marriage even before he married Elizabeth.

Elizabeth herself is also proving elusive. I can't find her birth or Maiden Name.

Sorry - my mistake. Joseph Aston was Ann's husband. James Miles was her father as you have picked up.

The question is how is Mary related to Anne. I presume they have different mothers as Anne's Mum was only 12 when Mary was born?.

Interestingly, Anne's Dad James is with a Mary Anne Miles of the same age as Mary Miles in a later census.

Hi, the 1841 census is in Llanelly, Crickhowell Reg District, Breconshire, not Monmouthshire.

Maybe ask for this to be moved, some have Brecon parish records that my help.

There are quite a few Miles families in this area.

I did struggle with which county to choose. I understand that Llanelly is sometimes in Breconshire and sometimes in Monmouthshire.

If there is info on Miles families in Breconshire, it sounds like I do need to get ths moved over.
