New to genealogy but getting there!
« on: Thursday 04 August 16 16:37 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

Just a quick post to introduce myself as a new member.

I've always had a strong interest in my family history and some of the rumors and mysteries that have surrounded it. My family have always been keen to find out more but have never really had the know-how or skills to do so until very recently a friend of mine who studies genealogy/history as a hobby kindly helped start building our tree.

Thanks to him we now know more than anyone has done for generations in my family, some hard evidence in certificates and censuses and I'm hooked to unravel more of the mystery!

I'm more than happy to discuss 'what we know' of my family history and what we've recently found out, but I think it is a little long winded to add into an intro - but please feel free to ask if you are interested.

Some names and places involved that I am keen to discuss (and that online searching actually brought me to this site) are the following:

Surnames
  • Munday
    Webb
    Stone

Places
  • Deddington
    Northants
    Somerset
    Middlesex
    Edmonton
    Walthamstow
    Hertfordshire

If any of this means anything to you and you'd like to discuss (or just be nosey and find out more  :) ) please do not hesitate to make contact!

Many thanks,

Joel.

Hi Joel & welcome  ;D

If you have anything you want to trace further....best choose which board for the area you are researching.

Use the "Subject" heading to add names & dates, not all at one time though (one family to start)  :P

People will be able to relate to your Names/Dates/Places/Occupations.

Add all you know to help other researchers & save them looking for info. already known to you.
The more info. you can provide the more chance of connections.
I will add though, please do not post details of living/likely living persons.

Welcome - we're a friendly bunch, and keen to help others each other ;D
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Welcome from me too,
have a look at Surname Interests, you will find it in the brown area at the bottom of every page under Your Tools.
You can add your own surnames and see who else is interested in the same names .
