Hello everyone,
I am lucky to be in Ireland for a few weeks and hope to go to Ballybay Co Monaghan to look for the grave of the above, my grandmother's brother. 
Henry was born on 30th April 1889 at "Gorse Hill", Ballybay and died in February 1891... he is possibly buried in Ballybay, my great grandfather Benjamin Johnston was working at the Bank of Ireland when his son Henry was born.  I have never been able to find a birth cert nor a death one.

My grandmother was born in Dundalk in April 1892, so perhaps the family was already living there in 1891, so Henry Vassal Johnston might be buried in Dundalk.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Some information that may help as from a basic search I can see that

Benjamin JOHNSTON; Bank Clerk of Tralee, Co. Kerry; father Benjamin
married on Feb 17 1876 in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick
Christina Lucy STAPLETON; of Courtney Castle, Newcastle West; father David

They lived for a time at Gorse Hill, Laragh in the parish of Aughnamullen, Co. Monaghan
During this time they had
female b 1879 - LINK
Edith Alice Violet b. Oct 20 1881 bap. Apr 24 1882 Ballybay; address shown as Agheraland House
Catherine Elizabeth b. n/r bap. Oct 14 1883 Ballybay
Henry Vassall b. Apr 30 1889 bap. Jun 26 1889

There are civil records shown in Castleblayney that maybe them
LINK to possible birth in 1889 for Henry
LINK topossible birth for Catherine in 1883
However the name Johnston was not unusual in the area


Family are in Kerry in 1901 - LINK to 1901 census
I don't obviously seen them in 1911

A thousand thanks to all for your hard work - all the information is the right family ... After Dundalk, they went to Listowel, Co Kerry (1901 & 1911 census) and afterwards my great grandfather retired. I am delighted to have the probable reference to Henry Vassal's birth , a step in the right direction!

Gorse Hill must have been in the family for some time - Emma is my great x2 grandmother!

My Granddad used to sing that song! I love the fact Dr. Johnston was annoyed that it was implied that his car was noisy!

Your second interesting link states that Henry Vassall Johnston was buried in Ballybay which is the original request - well done dathai

Myluck  i never even noticed the burial for Henry Vassal,just as well you have a keen eye.
