Lieut. Gen. Harold and Lady Harriet Walker, of the Grand Hotel, Plymouth, sailed for India aboard the "China" on 9 April, 1925.

In case Lady Walker might have returned temporarily to the U.K I checked for possible sailings back to India for 1927. Cannot find anything that fits.

Could you try it from a different angle and look for big houses around the area where your great aunt lives and see whether there is a photo on the internet which matches with the grand entrance. You say that your great aunt was unlikely to be taking tea with a "Lady", but perhaps your relative was involved with a local organisation or charity fundraising event - the lady of the manor might invite local people to a tea to show her support.
