help needed with finding my grandfather
« on: Sunday 14 August 16 18:00 BST (UK) »
hello i am trying to connect Ernest Goff to my father k j p as after years of wondering and looking i recently found out that he was my fathers father. my grandmother Edith Doreen pound (deceased)and grandfather Ernest Goff (deceased) had some form of relationship in 1935, they weren't married when she fell pregnant to Ernest, i am not sure if he even knew about his child as when she knew she was pregnant/started to show ?? she went into a unwed mothers home and when it was time she had K j p, no one in the pound family today know anything about Edith Doreen Pound having a child out of wedlock before marrying Walter Douglas Baker (deceased) in 1940 Totnes Devon. the  part that i am stuck on is i don't know which Ernest Goff he is or where he lived or relatives i can contact, to let them know and for myself and father to connect with or for photos and information. all i have is her name , his name and good old year number 1935 as that's when she became pregnant with my father and that it was in Totnes, Devon. i hope some one knows this story or can help me please with this as my father had a heart attack recently and i would love to inform him ( if this works in his favor) that is. PS he isn't on my fathers birth certificate and after birth/six months (?) was placed into a babies home (Dunraven babies nestling home) and when he was 5 years old transferred to a boys home in Falmouth Cornwall, then at 15 transferred to Australia, there was never an adoption of any kind thank you in anticipation elenor62

In previous topic it was explained that Rootschat has a 'no living people' policy so you'll need to amend you posts on this thread to remove your father's details (just click on the 'modify' button to make changes).

Hi

Just checking . . . . .

There were 2x k j p born within 2x years of each other in that area of Devon.

Are you sure that you have the correct one?
What was your starting point?

Is the name "k j p" common in the family?

You'll have to pm me the answer(s).
