Dropbox - renaming folders
« on: Thursday 18 August 16 11:53 BST (UK) »
I use Dropbox to send photos. I'd like to rename some of the folders - can I do this?

When Dropbox installed, it didn't work precisely as expected - there doesn't seem to be a "dropbox" folder on my computer, so I have to drag the photos from my computer to a dropbox window open on the web.

I'm moderately techie, but not extremely so - hope I've explained myself sufficiently.

Just create a new folder on DB and move stuff to them.
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Dropbox doesn't create a folder on your computer the folders are all online in your dropbox "space".

The default folders in your dropbox account cannot be changed BUT you can create your own inside then and name or rename them as you like - simply open dropbox go to the folder you have created and right click on that and choose the option to rename.

that's what I do at the moment. Just sometimes I'm dropping stuff off to the same person, but the folder name isn't quite precise.
