Frederick Charles Hatfield (1871 - ???)

I'm having problems finding out when my paternal Grandfather died.  I'm pretty sure he was living in London and the facts I do have from the Electoral records suggest that in 1934 he and wife Elizabeth Agnes (known as Lillian) lived at  39 Downs Park Road, Hackney, England.  This is the last date I can find for him. 

I also know that Lillian is living with daughter Marjorie in 1935 which suggests Fred probably died around that time.  Or, maybe Lillian left him or he left her.

There is a marriage for a Frederick C Hatfield  in 1942 in Lewisham. 

Do you know when his wife died?

I should have added that the BMD KG lists is the only one that was vaguely possible.  His son lived to 90 despite war wounds so Fred living to 84 is entirely possible.

I couldn't find Fred in the 1939 records either but Lillian is there listed as a widow. Also, Lillian's death cert in 1944 gives her as the widow of FC Hatfield.
That she is listed as 'widow' in both records doesn't convince me he actually died given family histories of bending the truth to suit the circumstances.

That they split up and he remarried is entirely possible as his 'marriage' to Lillian was common law so no need for a divorce.
