I  believe Georgina was his mother or sister, and went to live with him in Mansfield about 1911? died 1944 90 years of age.  Could this be right as it is about the time Amy left and came to live in Doncaster under the name of Wilson along with Amy H (my mother). I remember my Grandmother, we went to live with her for a short while when my   Father died in 1932.

105 Stockwell Gate was the address of what had been the old workhouse; the workhouse hospital eventually became part of Mansfield Community Hospital.

So James didn't die at home; which means you can't rule out the idea that his home address was the same as Georgina's.

Maybe someone would be able to look at electoral registers from the 1920s-30s to see where he was living?

Dear Ken,

I also think there isn't a marriage to be found for James Matha Beaney; either, to your grandmother Amy or to Georgina.

The online electoral registers do not cover the years 1911 to 1920 to see where James and Georgina might have been living, however they were both living at 152, Victoria Street, Mansfield in 1921 up to 1932.

I see from a newspaper report that Georgina's son (sometimes known as James or Bernard) was in Mansfield by at least 1913.

Nottingham Evening Post 18 August 1913
Mansfield Woodhouse Motor Fatality - Bernard Beaney , 139, Victoria Street, Mansfield, who was driving the float, described what occurred.........

I have also sent a pm.

Kind Regards

Sheila.
