Frank Liddell, architect, 1850s
« on: Wednesday 24 August 16 20:33 BST (UK) »
I am looking for my ancestor who married Mary Pether and had a son, Frank Robert Liddell in 1852/3. Frank and Mary are the parents named on the marriage of certificate of Frank Robert Liddell and Ada Greey when they married in 1886 in Scotland. Frank junior lived till 1903 and was my great great grandfather.
The only other fact I have about the Frank I am looking for is that he was an architect. Any connection with these Liddells would be of great interest.
I would be most interested to know where they lived.

Welcome :)

I see from Frank's census entries in Scotland 1881-1901 that he was born in England.

Robert Liddell married Mary Ann Pether at St John, Cowley, Oxford on 1 Sep 1836.

Frank Robert was born to them in Headington, Oxford in 1853.  Mary Ann died there in 1855.

Hi Jansha

Welcome from me too  :)

In case you haven't seen it, there is an entry for Frank in the Wills & Testament section of www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk Not clear from the index what type of document it may be.

From the Index of Calender of Confirmations and Inventories, he left an estate of just over £429 to his widow Ada Winifred Greey. He showed as an Advertising Contrator at the time of his death on 1 February 1903

Hi Karen
I am excited by your reply but the Rootschat moderator has removed words after "information on Frank's..."so I cant see it! Perhaps making this reply will allow it to be shown
It looks like we might be relatives.

Many thanks for the replies so far on this search.
I am puzzled by the mismatch of ages in the reply given by avm228. It looks like they refer to 3 different people.
