On Family Search there is a christening on 12 Dec 1835 at Killarny, Kerry - parents are Corn. Sullivan and Eliz. Corcoran.

A Stephen Sullivan born 1835 has a Chelsea Pensioners Service Record.  Don't know if he is your man or not.  This is also on Family Search.

I've found the service record on FindMyPast.  He is stated as being born in Kilorgan, Kerry.  Joined in 1853, service no 3651.
