Auxilary Territorial Services
« on: Saturday 27 August 16 20:15 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone
I am trying to find some information relating to my late mum,  the following is the only information I have, I believe mum was in the A.T.S when she met my late dad in 1946 on a train when dad was returning home on leave from the army, mum and dad married in February 1947 by special license.  Her name is Margaret Kathleen Joan Wadsworth born Aug 1926 If anyone could help I would be very happy to hear from them, my father s name is William Buckley born Sept 1925.
I think may have trained to be a cook as she very adept in catering in later years.
Buckley's of Madeley Shropshire, Rochdale, Oldham Cheshire, Bulkeley's of Cheshire and Beaumaris Anglesey Wales Stanton, Turner, Taylor, Peabody. Woodall, Perkin, Wadsworth, Whittaker.

Have you got a copy of their marriage certificate?

Can you remember did your mother ever say  where she had been stationed  during WW2?

I only have the Information I have posted However it is possible it could have been Buckinghamshire as that was where dad was stationed after the War to be on the same train as each other.

She may have worked at Bletchley Park   or she may have been a Despatch Rider.

You could apply for her service record (and your father's too if you don't yet have it):

An Internet search brings up her name, birth and death year, but I don't have a subscription to the site to see what other information may be there.

The one I believe we are not supposed to mention, unless the rule has changed.
