National Archives Research Request
« on: Tuesday 30 August 16 16:11 BST (UK) »
Apologies if I am treading on any toes here or if I am not following etiquette but.... I need some research undertaken at the National Archives for which they are currently quoting a minimum charge of £80. Is there/are there any researchers on here who would undertake such searches for a more modest sum?

Again, apologies if this is not the done thing, I'm not asking for a favour here but am willing to pay for research.

Many thanks and feel free to PM me and I can explain what I am after in more detail.

Yes, my reason for writing here was that I had tried that page three times and it had bombed me out. Strangely, it now seems to work so I'll have a go.

Many thanks for the very prompt response.

EDIT:

Still looking if there is anybody here who could help?

Instead of pm'ing, can you post a few more details?

There are some chatters here who visit TNA and might be able to help but tend to have an area of expertise and not confident stepping outside of their comfort zone.

OK, will do.
I am looking for any/all that can be found relating to Petitions for Clemency in 1830 for William Wall and Mary Wall. I know these documents exist and their names are in the Petitions Registry which I found on findmypast (that's nearly seven quid I wont see again!). I have attached a scan of the relevant page. At that point the trail goes cold and I can find no record on the National Archive but I have a transcript of some of the documents so I know they are there somewhere. If I can find somebody to go and fish them put I would be happy to pay a reasonable fee.

Hope this helps
