Thomas King and Sarah Biggs
« on: Friday 02 September 16 10:09 BST (UK) »
In 1760 Thomas King married Sarah Biggs in Northaw. He was a widower born 1719, bapt. 1724 in Hemel Hempstead. Sarah was a widow.

I am looking for Sarah's previous marriage to Mr Biggs so that I can find her maiden name. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Emeltom

1733 sounds a bit early, unless she was much older than Thomas.

Have you any idea how old Sarah might be when she married Thomas. Did they have any children together or would she be likely to be past child bearing age?

Unfortunately I have no idea of Sarah's age when she married Thomas. The only Sarah Arnold I can find who is old enough to have married in1733 was baptised 1714. This would make her about 5 years older than Thomas. That's perfectly feasible except for the fact that their last child, George, was born 1769 which would make her 55 - possible, just, but unlikely I feel.

George was buried at Hemel on 12 Dec 1771, the record says George, son of Sarah King widow, aged about 3 years. So Thomas's death may have stopped the production of children rather than Sarah's age.

Hadn't seen the death for George but did find a death for Thomas in 1771. However she still would have been 55 when she had George which, to me, is a tad old. They had another son Francis baptised 1768. Two children in two years  in your mid fifties?

There is a Sarah King buried in Hemel on 8 May 1810 age 78 years. That would make her year of birth about 1732
