Left UK for Australia - Francis Robertson, 1 Fairey St., Stoke Newington Common, 29 April 1837. Francis aged 29 and also wife aged 26, son aged 3 months. Embarked aboard KATHERINE STEWART FORBES.

Especially looking to confirm the wife's maiden name and son's birth details

In Australia he used the name of 'Robinson'.

Before Civil Registration, so you can only hope baby was christened in the 3 mths since his birth and before they left.

I wonder how reliable the departure date is? A web search suggests the ship left Gravesend 27 July 1837.

Are there no Australian records showing the given names of wife and son?

Passenger records state that the KATHERINE STEWART FORBES sailed from Gravesend on July 27th 1837 and arrived from London in Holdfast Bay, Adelaide on 17 October 1837 carrying Francis Robertson, wife and child male.

No reference to wife's maiden name, but the Biographical Index of South Australia states;
