Hello

I am stuck again. I am following a line from Ann Sergent (Various spellings almost anyone you can think of). I have all her history except a record for her birth or baptism, cant find one at all guess it is in West Bromwich in about 1820. She lived mostly in |West Brom until her death in 1901 in Walsall.

Her parents are George and Hannah however I can not find a marriage for them nor can I find Birth or baptism records. I have a history for George from the birth of his daughter ANN in 1821 to his death in 1872 but nothing definite before 1821. I believe he was born in Stretton in about 1791 but there the records end in a cloud of composite records . I would be grateful for any help in finding the correct route.

As Lizdb says, if you don't have her birth or baptism, how do you know they are her parents? Where does she give as her POB in the censuses, is that consistent?

I can see 4 Baptisms  at St. Matthew's Walsall:
Joseph ,George, Elizabeth & Sarah between 1811-15 all to George & Hannah.
Is this them?

Did she marry James WIGLEY 1848:

1861 Ann Wigley born c 1814 Cheddleton, Staffordshire
1851 Ann SEILEY born c 1820 Cheddleton
Has Son HENRY Sargeant with her and James in both Census, born 1841 Cheddleton

At the same Church they Baptised HANNAH Sargeant 9 May 1824, Father a Sawyer.
