Elizabeth Lynch
« on: Sunday 04 September 16 12:34 BST (UK) »
Born 1849 and died 1890. She married Isaac Mulberry 15th October 1868 in Londonderry and her father's name was given as Hugh Lynch. So far I have been unable to locate a birth record which would provide me with the name of her mother but I was able to find a sister Matilda after discovering that three of her children (Jacob, Isaac and Annie Mulberry) were living with her. However in 1901 Matilda gives her age as 40 which would make her birth year about 1861 but in 1911 she gives her age as 67 therefore giving a birth year of 1844. I have considered 1844 to be the most likely but have so far been unable to find anything. Can anyone help?

where did the 1868 marriage take place? Since marriages usually take place in the bride's church you might be able to find more details if church records survive. Names of the witnesses? Hugh Lynch's occupation? and is there a more exact residence for Elizabeth or does it just give 'Londonderry'?

Isaac Mulberry and Elizabeth Lynch were married in Glendermott First Presbyterian Church. Their children were David (1869) , Jacob (1875) , Isaac (1873) , Annie (1871) , Jane Eliza (1880-1884) and Samuel M (aprox. 1878). The census records are correct for Isaac Mulberry, he married again to a Margaret Smyth in 1890.

I have not found a given occupation for Hugh Lynch or the names of any witnesses or an exact place of residence for Elizabeth herself. I only know the date of marriage and the names of their fathers.

Then you need to view the certificate to get ALL the details- very easily done on GRONI's site after purchasing a few credits.

Another marriage around the same period in the same area with father Hugh Lynch- may or may not be sibling of Elizabeth's but certainly worth keeping a note of-

Robert Lynch married 1865 Bess Morison-

Sorry for taking a while to reply, I found the marriage record and it states Hugh's occupation as a Labourer, witnesses were David Mulberry and John McDermott, both bride and groom were from Curryfree.
