This was my grandfathers shop, i think the photo was taken sometime around 1937 and i THINK the location may have been in or around Wouldham, Kent. If anyone can help narrow it down/correct me, then please  do :)

Thanks

I think it may have been here in Northfleet - http://www.instantstreetview.com/@51.44817,0.322764,-155.27h,-4.03p,1z

In 1911, Emily WATSON was a General Shop Keeper at 52 Stonebridge Road.  A couple of doors away was 1 Railway St.

If you look a bit to the left on StreetView you see 50 Stonebridge Rd.

HI all!

Thanks for the reply's...and so fast!

Trishanne: I have visited this site before, i think i contacted the moderator too, but nothing has turned up yet :(

rosie99: That's the bit that's confusing me, my Granddad was born in Wouldham in 1929 and his father is listed as a shop keeper in the area in 1930. The next record i have is 1937 which lists him as a smallholder in Kent, on the farm where my Mum grew up.

Geoff-E: The 'E' Stands for Ernest (there were no Emily's in his family)but i appreciate the suggestion :)

They were at Forge Farm in 1939, old Ernest was a "disability Pensioner" and his wife a Housewife.

When you mentioned his whereabouts in 1937, was that from his marriage cert?
