KIA left from Wick, Caithness WWII
« on: Friday 09 September 16 02:01 BST (UK) »
I don't have a question but I wanted to share something that has really touched my heart.  A couple of weeks ago Ancestry.ca gave free access to WWII casualty records for Canadian servicemen.  I was able to find the complete service record for my mother's 2nd cousin, but because they grew up together they were closer than that.  He was stationed at Wick, Caithness and was lost in a bombing run on May 17. 1942.  It is kind of bittersweet because my father's great grandfather came from the same general area in Caithness and immigrated to Canada in the early to mid 1800s.
