Is anyone aware of a centralised site regarding navvies in the 19th century?

If you do get a response I would be pleased to know.
I guess at 89 I would be one of the few who would know what a navvie did or was. 8)

I think you would have to look into the history of 19th.C canal & railway construction to find anything about the life of navvies.
