Thank you

As his daughter/ or adopted daugher was born in 1922 I would have thought he would be born in the late 1800's to match

Yes, I too think 1913 would be too late.

Why do you think she was adopted?

No birth record exsists of Mary Anne or Anne Mary Boardman in November 1921

I have found one born in Ashingdon under Lyme in 1919 but to a Bernard Boardman

It is a real mystery

If she was adopted why did she keep her original name & not take the name of her adoptive family ?

Yes Jim1  - thats why we question it ???

Though my research we found out her son/ my father in law was adopted although she was the biogical parent so PAC have even looked into it alas not finding anything !!!!!

My father in laws middle name is 'Boardman' so this must have been held dear to her ????

Jim, I was adopted by my father's brother and, therefore, retained my birth surname.

It's possible she was adopted by another family member which would account for her name.
Is there a possibility she was illegitimate & her mother's name was Boardman & her father's name was made up ?
