That is what we were told  - yes !!!!!!!!!!!

I gave up on this theory as a family memeber spent 3 hours in an Ashington mesuem and found no link to this

Please can you help as this may be the bissgest break through I have got

No, I just found the fact on an Internet search - Facebook Nothumberland Gazette - and it says that there is a photo with the information written on the back.

I was getting all excited then - that was me !!!! doh

I have put many many hours into finding who this person is , but was told he was Mayor of Ashington which after reserach seems false

Ashington Urban District Council only had a Chairman, not a Mayor!

Can't find a list of Chairmen, though?!
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Sorry guys - We do not know anything what so ever about George William Boardman, so can give you no more clues

No DOB
No DOD
No place of residence
No wifes name

All we have is a name and job - Colliery Stoneman as marked on marriage certificate

The photo may be a red herring - we do not know for fact it is the same person

Photo passed down through the family and facts may have been distorted

There are only 3 George Ws on the 1939 register, to which I don't have access past the free search.
