Findmypast and it's a subscription site.  :'(

Someone will take a peek I'm sure.

Ashington is just up the way from Cullercoat, so it is possible there's a connection and that he died somewhere thereabouts.

Be patient Steve,

As you're on Ancestry have you checked the 1911 census, for the the two areas?

Hi Jamjar

Yes the 1911 census brings up possibilities only / but nothing really stands out

One death record from 1922 in Newcastle was a no match

Can't find a Boardman in Ashington U.D.

Then again, maybe your local library has free FindMyPast access?

There is a George Boardman, born 1913, residing in Newcastle Upon Tyne?
Together with Florence (Flora) Boardman, born 1891.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

If his daughter married in '44, would a 1913 birth for him be too late?

Thanks

Isn't it only free to see the names on the 1939, but you have to pay to see the details?
