Maritial Status on Scottish Census's 1841
« on: Thursday 15 September 16 16:59 BST (UK) »
Am I right in thinking that there is no mention of 'Head' of Family or 'Married', 'Widowed' etc on the 1841 Census? (Scotland)  Or is it just I have a transcription of one that is not complete... typical when it would be extremely helpful to find out whether the oldest Female in the house is Widowed or not?  ???

Certainly in the English & Welsh census of 1841, marital status and relationships are not given so i presume the same to be true of the Scottish one
Wainwright - Yorkshire
Whitney - Herefordshire
Watson -  Northamptonshire
Trant - Yorkshire
Helps - all
Needham - Derbyshire
Waterhouse - Derbyshire
Northing - all

Ah well, what's another 10 years between research....   ;) .... know she was a Widow in 1851, with no mention of the Husband on the 1841 Census, I'm presuming he was perhaps deceased by then too...
Thanks Marmalady  :)
