Adoption papers
« on: Saturday 17 September 16 14:10 BST (UK) »
Can someone please point me in the right direction...I am looking for the court and adoption papers for my brother-in-law. He was adopted in 1947 but his adoptive parents destroyed all the documents they had. I am hoping that somewhere there will be the original papers....does anyone know where these papers will be stored. Thank you..

Hi,

Welcome to Rootschat.  :)

If the adoption took place in UK you might find this useful:

I think that only your brother-in-law will be able to apply for any records.

Thank you for your reply....I will certainly do as you suggest. My brother-in-law died in 2012.
Thanks Dijimac
