Samuel Kelly
« on: Sunday 18 September 16 13:33 BST (UK) »
I have been trying to find a Samuel Kelly on the 1901 and 1911 Irish Census but so far I cannot find him. He married a Lizzie Wade on 01 Jan 1880 and they had the following children:

Annie Mary Kelly b. 29/01/1881
George McMullan Kelly b. 09/12/1882
Margaret Kelly 25/10/1891
John Kelly 11/06/1887

All of the children were registered as being born in Gosheden, Londonderry

I did find Annie on the 1911 census as a result of her marriage to William James Millar on 26/04/1909 at Cumber Lower Presbyterian Church:

From the Derry Journal of Monday 24 July 1893:

'THE FATAL ACCIDENT AT GOSHADEN
An inquest was held on Friday by Mr. Lindsay, city coroner, at Goshaden, on the body of Samuel Kelly, who was killed on the previous day by falling out of a cart while in a drunken condition...'

It went on to describe how Kelly and two others called James Carton and James Carlin were in Londonderry on the Thursday with 3 carts and left there about noon having had 'considerable drink', on the way home they stopped at 2 public houses for more drink.  On reaching Gosheden, Carlin continued on with his cart, and as Carton looked round after stopping his horse at a shop for goods, Kelly was lying on the ground beside his cart and appeared dead.  R.J. Irwin, the shopkeeper, tended to Kelly but 'beyond a gasp or two there was no animation'.

Doctor Elliott deposed that Kelly had broken his neck by falling out of the cart and a verdict of accidental death was returned.

I have been trying to find the newspaper article which talks about Samuel Kelly's inquest on 24 July 1893. Was it found through the British Newspaper archives or was it something different?
