The most I can think of married 3 times: 1868, 1885 and 1897. The third was to his 2nd wife's sister-in-law (who was also on her 2nd marriage by then). Pretty sure there was only children to the first marriage.

great-grandfather was married three times - the last time in 1878.

After his first wife died he was left with two youngsters and I guess he needed someone to look after them so he married again, had another two and then she died and so he married for a third time and went on to have seven children.

Off the top of my head there are a lot who have been married twice.  Don't recall any more than that.

I can only think of a few doubles in my tree.  Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, or it may be the longevity gene, or perhaps we all just get on ....  A great-aunt married twice with care and outlived them both comfortably for many years on the proceeds.  My Irish cousin did likewise after marrying a couple of retired tea-planters.

So far the most I have is 3 times for one grandmother, but I'm almost sure it was more.  Those are just the divorce records I have come across so far.....
