Llangynwyd Parish Registers
« on: Wednesday 21 September 16 09:19 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a baptism that allegedly took place in the parish of Llangynwyd in 1723. If anybody has access to the baptism registers, I'd be very grateful if you could let me know of any boys with the christian name of Evan listed on them.

Many thanks.  :)

You can conduct you own search at www.freereg.org.uk
Given the early date and the possible use of patronymics,it might be best to search separately with
Evan as a forename and a surname.

Regards
Roger

Thank you so much Roger. I had no idea FreeReg had so many registers listed on them now.

No it didn't work for me either Romilly, but I just googled Free Reg instead. It's so useful now!

The surname is Gibbon and there is a reference to a baptism in this church in a document I've found in the Glamorgan Record Office, but as the child was illegitimate, I wonder if his baptism entry could be under another surname (an unknown mother's maiden name).
