Rebecca james and joseph james

I'm hoping somebody might have any information about joseph james and his wife Rebecca james (smith was maiden name)I have them on the 1901 census
Joseph 26 born Epsom Surrey
Travelling gypsy
Rebecca 26 born Epsom Surrey
Vertina    6   born Epsom Surrey
Joseph    2   born Epsom Surrey
   They were down as living in Langley bottom st Martins Epsom.
Rebecca was my great great grandmother and her daughter vertina was my great grandmother.  Rebecca was a smith and I can't find any information on her  so am now stuck !!

 Is she alive at 1911 and is she consistent with age and birthplace?

Well I have her in 1911 with Joe and the kids and the birth places are the same .
I know this information is correct as my dad did the research but we now have no access to any of it !! I was hoping there might be another james or smith with some information as I've seen quite a few james posting lol - I'm new to this so am struggling

She's a different age with a  different birthplace between 1901 and 1911.
Was she alive in 1939 to get another opinion?

I haven't got that far back yet - I'm basically piecing together bits of my dad's stuff and other people who had info but none on rebecca.  I keep wondering if she wasn't really a smith ?!

An online tree  implies that they were not married.so going to be difficult for further information about her.
Says Rebecca dies in 1948, age 73 in Surrey, as James.
Tree owner is a Carol Smith.

Is this Vertina's death?
Vertina James, born 24th November 1893, died June 1981 age 87  in Hyndburn and Rossendale

Is Vertina down as Britannia James in 1939, living in the New Forest?
