mary cruse
« on: Friday 30 September 16 16:36 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone
I'm struggling to find death records for my 3x great grand mother and 4x great grandmother
Mary baker my 3xgrwat grandmother  married Samuel cruse in 1810 in Kenton Devon
He died in 1856 but witnessed by someone I don't know I only have 1851census with him in prison stating  married

Mary discombe my 4x great mother married Samuel cruse in 1782in Kenton Devon. He died in 1854in Kenton again witnessed by someone I don't know. 1841 census doesn't give me info about marital status and 1851census he is a widow

Any help guys

It seems the last child to the first Samuel & Mary was born in 1802 Kenton. There's every likelihood she died there also as they didn't seem to move about much.
As she's not with Samuel in 1841 the timeline is 1802-40.
Have you seen this:

There's a burial for a Mary Cruse 1836 aged 73.
Also a Mary Ann Cruse 1831 aged 46.

Greetings.

If you let us know the names of the witnesses it may be possible to find a link (relatives by marriage is a possibility).

All the best
Philip

The witnesses for Samuel and Mary baker in 1810 were Sarah clash and William Richards
The witnesses for Samuel and Mary discombe in 1782 were john bond and I can't read the other one
Don't know if that will help

I think the 1836 & 38 deaths look like the answer to the question.

PS the 1810 marriage to Mary Baker shows Samuel occ Blacksmith

So why have we two possible Mary's dieing within 2 years of each other of which one was wife of Samuel?

 father.
The baptism in 1814 is my 2 x great grand father son of Samuel (my 3 x great grandfather) and Maria
The widower is the my 4times great grandfather
