GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY Crash at Gainsborough ?
« on: Thursday 06 October 16 09:48 BST (UK) »
Hello!

Any information please as to the precise location / history of this

GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY Crash

Crash / derailment on two line countryside stretch. Looks to involve rolling stock only (no passenger carriages). On the reverse of the image is handwritten "Thonock / Gainsborough". Is this the correct location?  Any information greatly received!

With thanks~001uk

Thonock is a northern area of Gainsborough, starts roughly where the Gainsborough golf club is. The railway line still goes through the area for about a mile so you could narrow it down to that area.
