hiya,ive searched all my ancestors back to 1883 and the new general office in edinburgh i think just records up to 1855
so where do i start looking for records from 1855 an backwards
this would be scottish records im looking for :)

Have you tried http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ it is a pay site, but has not only the statutory records (post 1855), but also the old Parish registers (OPR) (1533 - 1854) and the 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901 census.

Otherwise try your local family history library, most have microfiche of the old parish registers (OPR) for Scotland.

hiya jenny yep i remember that site from couple years ago
at that time i didnt have much info to go on but i now can use it again
im also trying to find info of police constables from fife area around 1884
