Not sure what you mean by " this has been pointed out to me by an admin" as I can only see other members have responded to your topics. You cannot remove threads yourself but click on 'report to moderator' to explain to a moderator and they can make any changes if needed.

Cheers agha
Will do straight away, sorry I don't really know the lay of the land, but a number of people pointed out my fault pretty quickly, I didn't realise they weren't admins.
Thank you for the guide anyway, much appreciated.

Hi Pete

Don't worry.

The real point is that some of us ( er, ME,  ::) )  do not like "duplicating effort / wasting time" on answering a request which is duplicated elsewhere and possibly being validly answered there.

My suggestion is to just amend both threads saying something like "Also posted on  . . . . ." and if you know how to place a link in the mention then do so, if not, as often as not, one of us will pick it up and post it. ( If we are interested, that is  ;D

Cheers!
Ray

Hi Ray
Somebody posted to me on one of the two threads that they have merged the two now, I don't know what that means but as long as that is ok, I am good, but I will put a bracketed comment next to the post too.
Thank you for your understanding and advice.

Hi Pete

The real important point is to ask your question
[ with as much info in the thread title ]
eg do not use " Query " "Look Up " etc on their own
Use instead eg " Query = Surname Davies / 1940 - 1999 "  . . . . . .

That is win # 1
If you have NOT made a mistake ( as mentioned ) then that is win # 2

You are then already "on a hat-trick" [ you either score or get a pass to a possible score ]

Isn't Rootschat perfect?

:-)
