Thomas Adams christened in Lancing or Woolbeding?
« on: Monday 10 October 16 22:04 BST (UK) »
My 2nd Great Grandfather was Thomas Adams and recorded his birth as Worthing 1816 on census returns. I can find his christening on Familysearch.org as 23 June 1816 in Lancing to John and Frances Adams and also in Woolbeding on the same day to the same parents. I can also find his younger brother George Gates Adams christened on 2 April 1818 in both places with the same parents.
Can anyone explain this?
Thanks

Hi David,

Looking at the FS catalog, Woolbeding and Lancing PRs are on the same film and this is maybe what has caused a duplicate entry in the index.

Sussex FHG transcripts indicate that your Thomas was baptised at Lancing.  He doesn't appear in the transcript of Woolbeding registers.
