Sorry, I haven't read all of the link that Dawnsh has given.  Have you any idea of when he would have died, when do you last know of his existence.  If he was born in 1931 there is a good chance that he is still living.  If you have his date of birth it would help

Hi Rosie

It's a long and tricky post.

I don't think C4C has the birth cert yet as she wasn't sure what his name was or when he was born.

C4C has bought the birth cert for another chap with the same name and they have turned out to be cousins.

Another chatter here had a useful 'unwanted' death cert, same name wrong lady, and that has been passed on.

So with a bit of thinking and following through even though the surname is really common, we are getting somewhere.

He was at a wedding in the late 1960's/early 1970's so was still in the areas mentioned then.

I don't think he's in the death index upto 2007 (there are some potentials but the area is wrong but not out of the realms of possibilties) but I'm going to the British Library today and will check for deaths after 2007.

This might have to be out on the back burner for a week while C4C gets the 1931 birth cert so we have an accurate birth date.

Thanks dawnsh  :)

I did follow the other post when it first started but did not know if I had missed a birth date somewhere. I will wait and see how this progresses.

Just updating the topic as I've had a pm from C4C, it would seem as if the Jack Harris she was looking for passed away in 2000.
