Looking for the birth of Kathleen Jones Neve, born 21st February 1929

Kathleen Jones Neve was adopted into the family in 1930. There's an entry for her in the adopted childrens index.

The GRO fiche is a real mess so I've emailed them to ask for the correct reference numbers and will let you know, but it won't be until after the weekend now.

Explains the age gap, most probably really wanted another child and couldn't have one naturally.

Thank you for that, I know this must sound strange, but what info would I expect to see on this entry? Would it be the original record of Kathleen's birth, with her birth parent or parents, or would it be something else?

When you order a certificate, you also need the registration district, do you know those details, and is the record in the name of Kathleen Jones Neve?

When you apply online for an "adoption" cert at www.gro.gov.uk , you are asked for an age which will be 87 years, do you know the ref no which is yes and the year of the event which is 1930.

Sumbit those details and then you are asked for the adoptive surname and adoptive forenames and the exact date of birth followed by the volume and entry numbers.(Even if you didn't know you could put 01/01/1929 which is acceptable)

Select standard delivery and chose '1' FULL (not short) and enter a ref number if you want to and then proceed to check your order and the pay.

You don't need a registration district.

Many thanks for coming back to me, I am somewhat confused with the age of 87? when you have time, can you explain  more please,sorry to ask so many questions, but am new to adoptive records.

If she were still alive she would be 87 (2016-1929).

The GRO don't check but you need to put an age in.
