Trying to find information on William Greene, born in 1852 in Fermanagh, who served in the RIC in Galway. He married Bridget Connolly (she was born in 1856) from Monaghan, in 1872, in Fivemiletown, Co Tyrone. At the time he was living in Omagh, she in Portaferry, Co Down. Looking at the marriage certificate, it looks like the wedding was witnessed by Thomas Nolan and Margaret Mary Kallaghan??? William Greene's father was called Patrick, and I think Bridget Connolly' father was also Patrick, both deceased at the time of the wedding. They had 8 children, 4 of them born in Leitrim (Garvagh and Dromod), and 4 more in Clifden. When he retired he went to live in Glasnevin, Dublin, and they are buried in Glasnevin cemetery. His wife Bridget was a teacher, posssibly from Tedavnet, and she had a sister Ellen married to Thomas Loughran, who was originally from Meath, but they spent their married life in Monaghan. Any information appreciated please. Thanks in advance.
