I can't identify it on the map but there is a building in Snow Street marked "Old Parsonage"

The common was in the manor of Filbys

There is a green directly opposite the parsonage. It was called Little Green on the 1888 map. Just to the west of Blackboard Farm. This link to side by side maps should help. You can zoom out and move around. Just copy and paste.

The greens are listed in the other link that I provided. Little Green and Parsonage Green aren't the same.

I'm not disputing that fact Peter. The link I provided shows the Parsonage, with Little Green opposite. You can also see Baynard's Green at the other end of Snow Street. Francis Blomefield's book 'An essay towards a topographical history of the county of Norfolk' was first published in 1805. Brissingham is now Bressingham and the common referred to as The Dort is now The Doit, descriptions of things do change depending on who is writing it. Where I live, the same row of 4 cottages are variously referred to as Butchers Row, Church Cottages and Burt's Cottages in 3 different census returns. The farm opposite those cottages in The Street is shown as Street Farm on OS maps. It has never been that, it was Fiske Farm from 1700s onwards and Street Farm is on a totally different road.

Hi everyone

Thank you very much for looking into this for me.

I have just discovered some my ancestors straddled the Norfolk and Suffolk border. I had no idea as I was born in Berkshire, mother born in London and father born in Wales. It is an amazing discovery to find my ancestors came from villages 6 - 20 miles away from where I now live.

Hi bugbear

I have the image of the burial entry of William Kitchen buried in the parish of Royden, Norfolk on 27 Jan 1841 aged 86 years. I assume it is in the local churchyard of St Remigus. His abode is given as Parsonage Green.

I have a daughter of William Kitchen bapt in Diss, which is about a mile or two from Roydon.

The tithe map for the area has no labels, and there is no enclosure map on line.

I have found a reference in the BNA - Bury and Norwich Post - Wednesday 27 July 1831
