COMPLETED: QLDBDM search issue

I'm having problems with QLDBDM search facility.

I'm am trying to search for O'Connell. When I use the apostrophe it says, 'Last name contains an invalid character.' When I search without it, it says there are no O'Connell to be found in QLD. 

This is the same for BD and M. I tried other surname with an apostrophe and same issue.

It happens on iPad and PC, so assuming it isn't an equipment problem, or user issue.

Try searching using  O CONNELL

And you can search using wild card too

Just tried. O'Connell comes up with entry O Connell

That's strange as on my PC the search facility will not accept O'Connell as a search name in that format as experienced by Jamjar.

Thank you, the space worked. Of course that one didn't occur to me.

Had tried the wild card JM, with no joy.

Actually, you didn't sat that. You actually said that if you put in O'Connell you get O Connell.
O'Connell comes up with entry O Connell

Which is back to front to what I needed to do. So, Cando's point makes absolute sense in that context.

It was Cando I was thanking, as she suggested: Try searching using  O CONNELL
