AncestryDNA postage from NZ?
« on: Wednesday 26 October 16 07:01 BST (UK) »
Sorry if this has been covered off before. I did do a search but got too many results to sift through.

I have received my kit and went to PaperPlus to send it off, and they said I had to pay postage, and that the "postage paid" on the box only applied it if you are sending it from within Ireland.

Is this right?

Hi

Looks like there's a dedicated thread at Ancestry for asking such questions.    The advertising on ancestry.com.au (Australia ) site,  is showing that the price for these kits "excludes shipping / postage costs" ... while a query about DNA kits supplied in the US, suggests that they come with a "postage or shipping, pre-paid label" .  ???

SpudKiwi,

I've moved your topic from the New Zealand board here to the DNA Testing board, just in case people from other countries have any experience with this.

Thanks for moving my post, but I was hoping for NZ specific replies.

The kit I have has a big sticker on it saying the return box is postage prepaid international. But our local Post wasn't convinced.

Hi there
Pop onto the Trade Me site and to the Community Boards, Genealogy, and ask the ladies on there.  I'm pretty sure some of them have used Ancestry and may be of help.
I used ftDNA so can only give you that postage for my kits are about $14 to post back to the USA...

The link below seems to answer the question. It seems not to cover anything like the Ancestry/DNA postage.

That's fine, I'll move it back over to the NZ board for you now. :)

Hello SpudKiwi,

A couple of suggestions:-

If it is possible, you could go to one of the main post offices, rather than a branch, such as those in PaperPlus.

Or you could contact New Zealand Post:

https://www.nzpost.co.nz/contact-support

There is an 0800 number at the foot of the web page.......
