I have a print called The Great Lincolnshire Ox, with owner W T Swift by St Helens Church Lea 1870. It goes on to further say " The Great Lincolnshire Ox was bred and fed by William Thomas Swift of Church Farm Lea, Gainsborough and killed when three years old. Weighing 121 stone 10lbs sold to Messrs Bingham and Tallents of Retford for £100"
This lovely print show's the mighty ox with William in his topper looking very proud and the Church in the background.
It seems that William died in 1877, hope this may be a help to anyone searching for Swifts.
