1939 National Register Search Please?!
« on: Saturday 29 October 16 17:31 BST (UK) »
Hello, I hope it is ok to ask this question on here?

I wonder if someone could have a look on the 1939 National Register which is on FindMyPast for me please?

The person I am trying to find is Mary Reeve.  Full name Mary Eliza Amelia Reeve.  Age about 65 in 1939.  She lived in Harlington Middlesex at the time.  Her address was Redmead Road.

What I would like to know is the full name she put on the register, eg did she just put Mary Reeve or did she use initials or other names?  Also where did she say she was born, if that is on the register?

Thanking you in hope.  :)

Sorry but we are not allowed to do 1939 look ups.  Places of birth are not shown, all that the record will give is address, name (often only a first name) age, marital status and occupation.  It will also show the others at the address providing they are not still living.

Apologies, but we are not allowed to do look-ups on the 1939 Register, or 1911 Census.

If you live in England, then I suggest that you see if your local library has access to FindMyPast.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thank you for your reply and the library suggestion.  I had not thought of that.  I hope I don't get told off too many times.   :-[

Braytons, don't worry, you are not being told off, you have done nothing wrong by asking your question  :).  But any Rootschatter who posted info from the 1939 Register would be told off by the moderators  ;D

Is it the Mary who is married to a John Francis Reeve?

Marriages Dec 1896
Reeve    John Francis        Pancras    1b   161
Vincent    Mary        Pancras    1b   161

The 1901 census has them living in St. Pancras with two children.

Husband's birth year given as 1875 and birthplace St. Pancras, Middlesex

You should be able to find them in the 1911 census.

Hi Girl Guide, thank you for looking for me.  Yes I do have those records, it's just the 1939 one I am missing.  I will try the library.
