1841 census Sunningfield Berks
George Batchelder age 10
He is living with a William and Lucy --oun-s, too faded to read, I noticed the son Thomas was also born in Sunningfield re 1851, so could this George be one of their sons?

William and Lucy could be rellies looking after young George while his parents are working somewhere. I think William and Lucy's surname might begine with S

Looking at 1851 for Sunninghill, I think they are William and Lucy Sturmy (or similar). He is still a butcher and living in Wells Lane. William is born in Surrey and Lucy in Sussex, so locations don't match either George or Maria. May just be a couple paid for looking after little George.

Ah yes, obvious now I know the name  ;D
The enumerator has run the two "n"s, "i" and last "n" into one continuous wavy line and not dotted the "i".

Thank you for your replies.
Peter, That George christened 1830 was one of the children that I was trying to tie in to this family and the piece by LizzieL of the FindMyPast civil evidence case seems to prove that he was their child, and the 1841 census Belgrave square could possibly them.
Amondg Will head to the library next week to find that FindMyPast article on License transfer and the 1841 for Stenning the Butcher and maybe some family connection.
Their children Thomas c1846 born Sunningfield & Robert c1848 born Winkfield are their 2 children on 1851 census & on 1861 with Maria & new husband Charles BRIAN.
There is also a Mary A BATCHELDOR age 21. born Windsor. U. Charwoman on the 1861 census that seems to only appear this one time then disappears, that I also thought may be a daughter of George & Maria but no luck finding her anywhere else so far.
Cheers & thanks

Have checked Mary A Batcheldor c1840 on the new GRO search and her mother is given as Grover, which doesn't seem to fit at the moment.
Have tried to trace George born 1830, 1851 servant, Lambeth, 1861 Police sergeant,  Clerkenwell, 1868 son born, George as Watchman, 1871 Mason's Labourer, 1880 wife Lydia admitted to Brookwood Asylum WOKING, 1881 census not found yet, 1882 Lydia dies, 1891 with new wife Annie, marriage not found yet,  Engineers Labourer, Lambeth, 1893 dies Lambeth London age 62.
If anyone can track the missing 1881 census that would be a help.
Ref reply from LizzieL, Why would George need a Civil Service evidence of age in 1863? Thought it may be for the Police but he must have joined in the 1850's and by 1871 he is a watchman. Would it be for a Police pension that it was needed? Your thoughts most welcome.
Cheers
