Does Family Tree Maker run successfully on Windows 10?
« on: Wednesday 02 November 16 19:34 GMT (UK) »
I'm having to buy a new pc which will run using Windows 10. I use Family Tree Maker 2005 and would like to keep using it when I get this new machine. Does anyone know if FTM 2005 runs okay on Windows 10 please?

Somebody asked the below question in July 2014

Are Windows 8 and Family Tree Maker 2005 compatible?

And got the below reply

You may be able to get it to run but it is not designed for the newer OS and certain functions will not work

And that was for Windows 8, so the chances are that it will either work in a limited capacity or not at all on Windows 10.  You may need to upgrade to a newer version of FTM.

Perhaps someone with more expert knowledge can confirm whether the above is correct.   I just found the info by googling.

Many thanks everyone for your help. Looks like FTM 2005 may run on Windows 10 after all.
