Abbreviations on older indexes
« on: Thursday 03 November 16 14:04 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I found my birth record in the Texas Birth Index and next to my fathers name is (ino). Does anyone know what that means? I searched about 40 pages before and after and only found one other that had (ino) beside the fathers name. Any help is immensely appreciated. [/size]

Welcome to RootsChat

Haven't come across that one - could it be abbreviation for "infant of"   ???

Thanks!  I have also been told it could mean "in name only" too.  Something to think about.
