Hi Tikva

Can you also tell us please where this man lived ... his place of death etc. ? (There are a number of men on electoral rolls with same name).

    ~  Lu

Hi Lu,
He died in Mosgiel, and from the post-marriage Electoral Roll records I could find, these are the addresses he was residing at:

1935 - 3 River Street, Gore
1938 - 3 River Street, Gore
1946 - 111 King Edward Street, Dunedin
1949 - 111 King Edward Street, Dunedin
1949 - 37 Richardson Street, Dunedin
1949 - 3A Bowen Street, Dunedin
1954 - 3A Bowen Street, Dunedin
1957 - 3A Bowen Street, Dunedin
1963 - 33 Church Street, Mosgiel
1969 - 33 Church Street, Mosgiel
1972 - 33 Church Street, Mosgiel

I did find an entry in the "New Zealand, Birth Index, 1840-1950" on Ancestry for an Ernest Richard Wheeler, and that particular birth was registered at  Rakaia, Canterbury, New Zealand.

He married a Minnie Hannah Weir on the 11 September 1930.

I have searched Paperspast already in the hopes that it might provide more information, but unfortunately did not have any success.

Yes, I'd also found the Rakaia birth registration.  ;)

I'm not sure if anyone will be able to give me the information I'm looking for, but hoping to find the adoptive parents names of one Ernest Wheeler, ....

Hi ... is there some reason you are unable to provide us with more information about this Ernest ?
[If there is info that you'd rather withhold, then please just say so.  ;)    We only ask additional questions so that we can "search other avenues" which you may not perhaps have access to.  And ... yes, we may just be able to help.  :)

I have found possible "adoptive parents" for Ernest.

Need to to a lot more checking of records though to ensure I'm on the right track.

Haven't forgotten about this, Tikva.
Still compiling info ... some of which is proving a tad elusive.  ;D

Thank you Lu - good to know it wasn't just me who was finding the information rather elusive, lol.

Hi Lu,

Just thought I'd check to see if you'd had any success with this?  Thanks!
