Help
I'm struggling to find the Land Grant - is it on the Canadian archive site or a pay family history site.

Any chance you could point me in the right direction

are Canadian BDM records online ?

Thank you

Hi,

Sorry just on my way out. The Homestead application, 4 pages, some is barely legible, it is by proxy, dated April 5, 1917, Miriam Gladys Thomas for John Edmond Pritchard of 756th Batt. Calgary
#446265,  tranferred to 15th Batt. age 24, b. Wales, last residence Calgary, occ. bookeeper, (this
could be her information, as his occ. is shoemaker on his attestation papers) paid cash $10. Discharged mobilisation 17-5-19, address not available. The last page was to inform the abscence of defence (he didn't "prove" the land, he had to clear, plant or build within a certain time frame in order to get the patent/grant) dated April 13, 1920.
Grants are here, and he isn't listed
http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/land/land-grants-western-canada-1870-1930/pages/list.aspx?Names=prtichard&

No, don't buy credits yet, someone should come along to find him if he stayed in Canada, or
you could post him on the Canadian board with a link to this post.

Cheers,
DB

Following on from that fabulous lead by DB - what a star  ;D

What were the parents names ? Have you got a date of birth ?

Sandra

Have just read thru and realise you don't have any details - apart perhaps from the date on those attestation papers.
