1857 Peterborough Newspaper Obituary Possibility
« on: Saturday 05 November 16 00:37 GMT (UK) »
My g-g-grandmother, Mary (Lyall) Jeffrey, died (26 May 1857) in the Peterborough area, and is buried in Little Lake Cemetery in Peterborough. I would love to see if there is a newspaper announcement of her passing. What suggestions can anyone give me about digging for this?

The Peterborough Examiner donated their archives to the Trent Valley Archives (http://trentvalleyarchives.com/).

As well, the Peterborough Public Library (http://www.peterborough.library.on.ca/) has microfilm of the Examiner starting from 1856.

You may want to contact one or both of them for a look-up.

Good morning,

Here are a couple of historic newspaper sites that may be of interest to you. The first is a commercial site, but i have found some good info for my ancestors on it in the past. The next is another site, but i haven't used it a lot.
